Take Care Of Your Leaders

I had such a unique dream last night, and I’m always excited to have these types of dreams — the ones where you meet the leader of your country. Well, that’s what happened — I met my president Joe Biden last night! I feeling in the dream was very different from the sentiments people have when they think of politicians.

In My Dream…

I was in the residence of President Joe R. Biden.
He wasn’t dressed up for any speeches or public appearances.
In fact, he was hunched over a bit, and looked a little haggard and just really worn out.
I was there with him, caring for him as he was walking around his house.
I felt the strong need to make sure he was safe.
Wherever he walked, I would hold his hand and help him walk.
I was always worried he would trip, with how weak he was walking.
At one point, we were eating lunch around a table, and the President was speaking,
though there was a lot of noise around us.
It was the noise of many people speaking all at once.
I was frustrated, because it felt like my voice couldn’t easily reach his ears with of all the noise around,
but I did my best to speak out loud to him — closer to his ear.
I wanted to make sure I heard what he said and that he could hear what I said.

Dream, 2/11/23

When I woke up…

I couldn’t help but smile at the warmness that I felt in that dream. I saw a behind-the-scenes view of someone usually only seen in the public spotlight, clad in the best dress, and with the necessary make-up.

This feeling of warmth and care is such a contrast to common sentiment toward political figures when there is controversy. It is, however, very much in line with what Jesus has always directed his church to do. What’s different today is that we have a closer, more detailed view into the political world than Christians did back in the Roman Empire.

Love is…

Love gets difficult when you find out the flaws in people, and love seems almost impossible when you encounter flawed leaders with the ability to influence millions of people, and who are Christians, or at least profess to be so. Most everyone has some family, and we Christians are an even larger family.

God’s love and compassion extends to our leaders who are exposed to negative influence all around. God’s love and compassion extends to those who have to make difficult decisions, sometimes good, sometimes bad.

Repentance can certainly is a goal for when we pray for others, but there should not be any hate in our prayers, because God is love. God’s love and compassion through us breaks barriers and really does “cover the multitude of sins.”

Pray for Leaders

Pray for your leaders, even the atheists, agnostics, and the rival political party. I guarantee you that obedient Christians everywhere around the world are doing the same for their own world leaders.

People want to hate others, but Jesus loves those who others are ambivalent to, don’t like, or downright hate, and so should Christians.
